Los Feliz...Celebrate female voices in the Theatre with the 33rd Annual Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival. The festival begins with an opening gala and award ceremony held at Barnsdall Gallery Theatre tonight. Furthermore, the champagne gala will pay tribute to six women, and is hosted by Ted Lange  (The Love Boat) and Florence LaRue (The Fifth Dimension, Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame). Exposition Park

The California African American Museum (CAAM) and the Reparations Club celebrate the LA launch of Kin by New York Times–bestselling author Tayari Jones. The novel spotlights mothers and daughters, as well as friendship, sisterhood, and also the complexities of being a woman in the American South. The well known author of four book had her latest book An American Marriage chosen to be on the Oprah’s Book Club list. In the Bendix BuildingTrack 16 Gallery hosts an art talk with painter Cole Case. The event takes place in conjunction with the gallery’s current exhibition – And it Keeps Coming ‘Til the Day it Stops.
