Wendell Wiggins, “Blossoming Thoughts,” Oil on canvas, 20” x 16″

Could we use a little magic in our lives? African-American Artist Wendell Wiggins can’t imagine living without it and is compelled to infuse his spellbinding images with a sense of enchantment and charismatic energy. The viewer feels compelled to dive into the sense of possibility.

About Wendell Wiggins
Originally from Washington D.C., the artist has lived for years in Los Angeles, but his paintings evoke his wandering spirit, personal experiences, dreams, and spiritual and cultural traditions that reflect positive and inspirational aspects of humanity and the natural world. Says the artist, “I often attempt to portray a world beyond physical sight and to communicate mystical and spiritual ideas that transcend the physical and scientific worlds.

The artist, who attended California Institute of Art, Santa Clarita, received an MFA from Cleveland Institute of Art in Design Graphics, Photography and Editorial Illustration, and a BFA in Illustration, Graphic Design and Photography. He has exhibited in solo and group shows in galleries, municipal art galleries and museums throughout Southern California. “Impossibly Magical Women” is his first exhibition at Galerie Lakaye.
