LACP invites photography lovers to join a FREE photo walk through the streets of Downtown Los Angeles. The public will be accompanied by members of this photography group. The LACP Street Collective Meet-Up will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 1-4pm.

LACP Street Collective Meet-Up

All photographers of any level are welcome to attend this free Meet-Up! Experience a unique opportunity to hone your street photography skills alongside these talented photographers. Many are skilled shooting mages of every day life on the streets of Los Angeles.

The group will meet at LACP at 1pm. The route will include LA’s Historic Core, with stops at Grand Central Market and the Toy District. The Meet-Up will end back at LACP. Then stay for the closing celebration of the Street Collective’s Pop-Up Exhibition, Shades and Rhythms of a Sprawling City.

If you missed the opening art party for the aforementioned exhibition, this is your last chance to stop in and view it. Artists include: Renée Barron, Maureen Bond, Thouly Dosios, Ellen Friedlander, Andy Hann, Patty Lemke, Leba Marquez, Carl Pfirman, Safi Alia Shabaik, Todd Stern, John Travis, and Kevin Weinstein, Special Guests: Thomas Alleman, Peter Bennett, and Ibarionex Perello.

LASC

The Los Angeles Street Collective (LASC) is a dynamic group of street photographers committed to visually capturing the spirit of Los Angeles and integrating the work back into the community. We photograph activity in public spaces, attempting to redefine traditional notions of street photography while interpreting the shades and rhythms of a sprawling habitat where diverse worlds clash and merge in complex ways. We nourish each other’s creative journeys while also engaging in deep dialogue about the work, both on an individual and collective level.

Los Angeles Center of Photography (LACP) is an organization that forges creative vision, and experimentation into a vibrant photographic community. The expresses the cultural and artistic crosscurrents that are the essence of Los Angeles.

For over two decades, LACP, a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization, has been supporting, mentoring as well as promoting visual storytellers on their creative journeys. Each year, LACP programs, organizes and offers the wider public over 150 exhibitions, as well as additional events each year. The happenings take place both online and in-person.
