The Kia Forum presents LA-based Latin psych-soul band, Chicano Batman Saturday, June 29, 2024. This is the band’s biggest career performance to date. It will be the grand finale of their highly acclaimed tour, following the release of their latest album – Notebook Fantasy.

Chicano Batman released their long anticipated, Notebook Fantasy on March 29. It was a big hit. Grammy Award winner John Congleton produced it He has worked with Erykah Badu as well as St. Vincent. Together they pushed their creative boundaries while maintaining their signature sound. Notebook Fantasy is Chicano Batman’s fifth studio release and their first since 2020.
The band members grew up right here in Los Angeles, so the performance should be extra special. “Notebook Fantasy” retains Chicano Batman’s unique blend of psychedelic soul, indie rock, and Latin influences. There are 12 new tracks, including the lead single “Fly,” which delivers catchy soulful melodies. As a whole, there seems to be a crisper overall sound to the album.

New tracks explore the band’s search for positivity in today’s chaotic world. Notebook Fantasy represents an artistic evolution. It touches on deeply personal and introspective themes while reflecting on childhood wonder, such as doodling in a notebook. Lead singer Bardo Martinez explained that the album is a return to the band’s roots. Creating this new music was a therapeutic process. Ending their tour here in LA with some hometown love is sure to be the icing on the cake.
