In the Larchmont/Melrose Hill area….Rele Los Angeles debuts Culture Diaries, a group exhibition that looks at African-American identity within a contemporary and historical context. Bringing into focus the plurality and complexity of what it means to be both Afro-descent and American, guest curator Dominique Clayton draws in artists of varied cultural, social, economic and linguistic backgrounds, including those multi-generationally American and those decidedly so. The Orpheum presents Hauser, a well known cellist making his mark on the music world. His solo debut took place in 2020.
Then in 2022 his album Classic and The Player successfully released. Hauser has performed in over 40 countries across the globe (including historic venues like New York City’s Radio City Music Hall and London’s Royal Albert Hall). He has also performed alongside legendary acts such as Andrea Bocelli, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Elton John. In Miracle Mile area…1301PE hosts an opening art party for Uta Barth’s fifth solo exhibition with the gallery. It will feature new work by the artist.
In addition it will also include segments of …from dusk till dawn (2022). The project is commissioned by the J. In Larchmont…Morán Morán debuts Days of 2024, a solo exhibition by Los Angeles-based artist Eve Fowler featuring paintings, as well as video installation.
The title refers to a poem by James Merrill. Fowler continues her focus on cultural biases as they relate to gender politics and also queerness.
