Taking L.A. County’s largest free July 4th celebration to new heights, the seventh annual Grand Park + The Music Center’s 4th of July Block Party will add a 75-foot Ferris wheel (tickets required), offering attendees spectacular views of Downtown Los Angeles and a bird’s-eye view of the expansive festivities.

The family-friendly event will now cover more than six city blocks, from Los Angeles Street to Grand Avenue and from Temple to Third Street and feature all the hallmarks of a classic Independence Day celebration. From 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., attendees will enjoy picnicking, music and dancing and will cap off the celebration with Downtown L.A.’s largest fireworks show; launched from the rooftop of The Music Center’s iconic Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, the colorful display will be visible throughout the surrounding neighborhoods.

Infusing sounds of Boogaloo, Latin Soul, Salsa and Latin Funk, hometown favorite Boogaloo Assassins, will headline a continuous line-up of free performances throughout the afternoon and into the evening. Attendees will move and groove to some of L.A.’s most sought-after DJs and live bands performing on two high-profile stages. Park-goers will also enjoy a variety of food choices for purchase from L.A.’s favorite gourmet food trucks, including tacos, barbecue, burgers, vegan, sweets and more.

Public transportation is encouraged. Attendees can enter the event through five entrances located on Hill Street, 2nd Street and 1st Street. All bags will be checked upon entry. Alcohol will not be sold onsite, and there will be a no tolerance policy for any alcohol brought to the event. Although food is available for purchase, attendees may bring snacks, food, sealed juice boxes and empty reusable non-glass water containers. Small bags and strollers are allowed inside the event, and all pets must be kept on leashes.

This is a FREE event – be safe and have fun.
