Photographic Arts Council Los Angeles (PAC LA) offers an art talk with artist Arturo Soto and curator Claudia Pretelin at its gallery in The Reef. The discussion takes place in conjunction with the exhibition Today, something, which is currently on view at the gallery. The conversation spotlights her photographic series documenting the urban idiosyncrasies of the neighborhood in Mexico City where the artist grew up. Huntington Beach

The 19th Annual Pipeline to a Cure gala happens tonight. The event benefits Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and celebrates the positive attributes that surfing brings to the CF community. Pipeline to a Cure chairman, Judy Burlingham will host along with emcee, Shawn Parr. Additionally ambassadors, Reef McIntosh, Dave Kalama, Austin Kalama, and Laird Hamilton will also help to create a memorable evening.

Marc Selwyn Fine Art presents two new exhibitions –  Lee Mullican: Silent Shades as well as William Wegman: Private Show. The aforementioned solo show features on paintings created during Mullican’s Guggenheim fellowship in Rome. It also includes a selection of terracotta sculptures produced a bit later. The later exhibition Private Show is made up of rare vintage photographs as well as video from the 1970s. Louis Stern Fine Arts premieres Cordillera Mexicana: Alfredo Ramos Martínez and the Mexican Landscape. The artist (1871-1946) celebrate his connection to his homeland via his exhibition. Tierra’s studio artists voices will be heard recounting their dreams via a recording as part of the artwork. Chris Sharp Gallery unveils Muna Island a group show that celebrates the longevity of the art form of painting. The exhibition title refers to the island located in Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia known for the oldest known cave paintings. In fact, painting which was a form of story telling predated writing by roughly 35,000 years. Feia debuts two new exhibitions. The group show titled Four Corners features Los Angeles-based artists Cathy Akers and Kayla Mattes alongside New York-based Danielle Klebes and Janet Loren Hill. The Bendix Art Night takes place at the famed art building. You’ll find art across several floors and galleries such as Track 16, Durden and Ray, TSALA, 515, OFUS, and probably even more than we have listed. Moreover several artists will be opening their private studios, so keep alert. We know for sure Mary Little (Suite 1030) and Studio Azarov (Suite 844) will be open; Plus keep your eye out for on-site installations and pop-up art.

Track 16 (East Hollywood) debuts the second solo exhibition of David Daigle. Titled The Death of Beauty, the gallery celebrates the opening with an art party. Daigle’s practice explores the intersections of desire, identity, and consumer culture through photography and sculpture. TSALA presents The Name in My Empty Hand by Rosie Brand. The solo show is curated by Cait. The initial inspiration for the exhibition came from the final year of the life of Brand’s mother.
