PHOTO L.A. focuses on an intimate scale of exhibitors to allow greater visibility and impact, as well as to foster more personal dialogue between exhibitors and collectors. Using forward-thinking and strategically tailored programming, The photo fair engages the arts and photographic community by helping to enrich the participants and visitors’ experiences at the fair. One can expect lectures, roundtable discussions, special installations, and docent tours with distinguished members of the arts community draws an informed audience to the three-day event and sparks critical debates about the state and future trends of photography and the art of collecting.

This year PHOTO L.A. will feature an impressive and exclusive collection of established Chinese galleries. With China well on its way to becoming a cultural hub and marketplace, the fair will present some of the best Chinese contemporary photography galleries including Being 3 Gallery, Pan-View Gallery, Cipa Gallery, View Art Gallery, 9 ART Gallery, Yingshang Photobook Collection, Mino Gallery, Cube Art Centre, and Sipa USA. PHOTO L.A.’s hope is to foster a deeper cross-cultural exchange between the galleries, collectors and broader public of China and Los Angeles, both at the fair and beyond.

PHOTO L.A. will be held at Santa Monica’s historic 35,000 square foot Barker Hangar, one of the biggest and most versatile venues in Los Angeles. FOODLAB will provide a gourmet organic market & cafe featuring sandwiches, salads, full espresso bar, fresh juices and gourmet treats.
