Head to the West Hollywood library to view an exhibition titled Angel of Compassion by S.P. Harper. The library will also host an art talk with the Los Angeles-based artist and Peter Frank (critic, writer, and curator). Angel of Compassion pays tribute to iconic actress as well as her Elizabeth Taylor’s legacy of philanthropic work. She became an early advocate of HIV/AIDS causes in 1984. Taylor continued to support the cause in many different ways. Then in 1991 she created The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (ETAF) to provide care and support to these patients.

The exhibition features seven works which represent each of the jewels auctioned by Christie’s following her death in 2011 to raise funds to benefit the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. The conversation takes place in the Library’s Meeting Room. During the interview, images of the works and “making of” videos will be shown. The event is free and open to the public, and the Library will remain open until 7pm, so guests may view Harper’s exhibition on the first floor before or after the talk. Find more info on S.P. Harper’s website – Art Talk: 5-6pm; West Hollywood Library, 625 N. San Vicente Blvd., LA 90069; https://lacountylibrary.org/location/west-hollywood-library/
