Gabba Gallery kicks off 2025 with TIMESCAPES, a spectacular new solo exhibition by Brooke Harker. You can catch Brooke at the February Downtown Art Walk on Thursday February 6, 2025 at Gabba Gallery. Brooke will be there from 6-8pm – meet the artist.

TIMESCAPES features a joyful collection of cityscapes that will make you feel like you are on a trip around the world. Using vibrant color palettes of thickly textured oils on canvas, Harker captures the unique vitality of some of the worlds most beloved destinations. Immerse yourself in the streets of Hong Kong, the taxis of New York City, the cliffs of Cinque Terre, as well as the beaches of Southern California and more.

Harker’s work captures moments in time and also inspires a sense of optimism in viewers.

“It has been art that has lifted me up through some of the most difficult times in my life,” said Harker. “Within the colors, within the mixing of paint, I’ve seen problems get solved. I’ve been surprised by how things worked out that I never imagined,” the artist continued.

When asked about what it’s like to prepare for an art exhibition amidst such devastation in Los Angeles Harker responded, “It took me a minute to process moving forward with the exhibition with so many people displaced and my mind on the most impacted residents. The gallery made a very important point to me which is that people need community right now. Art has the ability to transport people and ignite a different way of seeing.”

TIMESCAPES allows its viewers a chance to escape. The exhibition is curated by Jason Ostro and Elena Jacobson. In addition to Harker’s solo show, the gallery will host simultaneous openings by Patrick Haemmerlein and Judy Ostro. Sponsored by Liquid Death, Easy Rider.
