Feast of San Gennaro in Los Angeles is back at Highland and Hollywood…

In September of 2002, some of LoFri-Sun-sept23-25-2016-SanGennarros Angeles’ most prominent Italian American citizens got together and produced the first annual Feast of San Gennaro in Los Angeles, offering three days of enjoyment for the entire family. Just like the 80+ year old New York City tradition, the Galbani Italian Feast of San Gennaro Los Angeles celebrates Italian culture, food and entertainment, and features live music, street performers, strolling musicians, a kid’s corner, and many games.

In addition to sampling wine from local wineries and food from some of Los Angeles’ best Italian restaurants, guests are invited to learn recipes from the cooking stage and play bocce ball and bingo with some of Hollywood’s Italian American celebrities and much more!

HeavFri-Sept23-2016-HeavenonEarthen on Earth celebrates its love of animals with its annual fundraising gala. This year, the nonprofit organization honors 20th Century Fox TV Animation, talented actress and animal activist Amanda Seyfried, and first recipient of The Perry’s Passion Award, Karma Rescue. At the event, three honorees will also be recognized…all have gone above and beyond in supporting and speaking on behalf of the homeless animals who do not have a voice of their own.

Once again the event will be held at The Garland in North Hollywood. Enjoy wonderful music, delicious vegetarian and vegan cuisine, amazing and unique auction items, and great company!

Thcropped-Rocky-Leonis event represents 20% of the organization’s annual budget, and will be put to work entirely to care for kittens and cats who are in the care of Heaven on Earth and awaiting adoption at Perry’s Place. As a privately funded organization, Heaven on Earth is depend on the generosity of its corporate, foundation, and individual donors. Your support will help to continue its lifesaving work.

Working in Los Angeles for the past forty-five years, Jim Barrett has found the inspiration for his paintings in the magical landscapes and diversity of the people in and around the LA area. This film also covers bG Gallery’s world premier of Jim’s massive 30-ft multi-panel work, War Complex, which speaks to the heart and mind of both the terror of war and the complexity of the human condition.

Fri-Sept23-2016-FutureTongueFuture Tongue invites art lovers to celebrate on its rooftop for some cocktails and intriguing conversation. Artists Maja Ruznic and Suné Woods will be facilitating this inquiry into inspiration, artistic vision and their latest challeges.

Extraction, a group exhibition featuring the work of Kay Cheng, Deedee Cheriel, Bri Cirel, The Ladies Dewald, Shepard Fairey, Harry Gamboa Jr, Britt Harrison, B. Justine Jaime, Rebecca Marino, and Johnie Thornton. The show will also include a public discussion with artists Maja Runzic and Suné Woods.
