The Other Venice Film Festival (OVFF) proudly returns, better than ever, for its 13th season this October 7th to 9th.Opening night kicks off TONIGHT, Friday October 7, at 6pm at Beyond Baroque. The OVFF will also be recognizing City Dignitaries with an Abbot Award for Community Service. Some of the local artists who have participated in the festival include Roger Corman, Catherine Hardwicke, Werner Herzog, Tony Alva, Orson Bean, Tony Bill, Paul Chowder, Camryn Manheim, Gary Marcus, Stanley Mitchell, Chris Mulkey, Zak Penn, Stacey Peralta, Michael Pressman, Danny Trejo, and Sean Welch, among many others.

The Mistake Room is pleased to present “Thomas Hirschhorn: Stand-alone,” the internationally renowned Swiss artist’s first solo project in Los Angeles.
Produced in collaboration with the Coppel Collection in Mexico, the exhibition will feature one of Hirschhorn’s large-scale spatial collages that will transform The Mistake Room’s gallery space into an immersive environment. “Stand-alone” was created in 2007 and presented in Berlin that same year. It was subsequently acquired by the Coppel Collection and exhibited at the Tamayo Museum in Mexico City in 2008. This will be the first time the work is presented in the United States.
“Thomas Hirschhorn: Stand-alone” is organized by The Mistake Room in collaboration with the Coppel Collection and curated by Cesar Garcia, TMR Director and Chief Curator, with Hanna Girma, Curatorial Assistant.

La Luz de Jesus presents “Sonny King: Silver’s Circus.”
Inspired by a childhood that was split between a strict Australian boarding school and the colorful environment of the circus where his father worked, Sonny King creates vibrant renditions of big-top life that take viewers back in time.
