Its time for the 10th Annual Other Venice Film Festival! It runs all weekend, October 11-13th.

onight the Opening Night Premiere kicks off at Killer Shrimp in “Overkill Screening Room.” Feature Film: “Republic of Two” directed by Shaun Kosta
Produced by Boxer Films, the film offers stylish realism and standout performances from newcomer Brent Bailey and British actress Janet Montgomery (‘Black Swan,’ ‘Entourage,’ ‘Our Idiot Brother,’ ‘Made In Jersey’), the L.A.-set drama/comedy is a sometimes-romantic and always honest conversation starter an after dance party will complete the evening,music, libations and food from Killer Shrimp.
The evening kicks off with a red carpet & cocktail party 6pm-8pm at Killer Shrimp in Marina Del Rey.

Martell Foundation (www.tjmartell.org) has announced that the third annual “Artworks for The Cure,” a highly popular and successful three-day benefit exhibition, auction and sale of contemporary art, will be presented Friday thru Sunday, October 11th-13th at the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport.
“Artworks for The Cure” is a very contemporary offbeat, eclectic and sometimes irreverent charity art show that features the work, from studio to street, of over 125 painters, sculptors, photographers and mixed media artists from around the globe. It has shown strong appeal to both adventurous collectors and beginning and curious art fans.

n opening night, Friday, October 11th, guests get to mingle with many of the artists represented at the VIP Meet the Artists Reception that also includes a Red Carpet, celebrity DJ, live music and hors d’oeuvres.
