Downtown LA…

The Bridge Gallery in Los Angeles City Hall hosts an art exhibition featuring posters and a photo documentary series by Collette McGruder of Inner-City Arts students.

The Posters, partner with established and emerging artists to help create affordable artwork while supporting art education in the city. On display will Fri-Nov6-BridgeGallerybe art by: Sam Falls, Aurel Schmidt, Andrew Kuo, Marc Hundley, Sadie Laska, Corita Kent, Sara VanDerBeek, Simone Shubuck, Bella Foster, The Haas Brothers, and Paul Wackers. Collette McGruder, photographed and interviewed past and present students on the beautiful Inner-City Arts campus located in the heart of Skid Row. The series documents the impact of the arts program on the lives of underserved youth in Los Angeles.

Tonight’s event will include a panel discussion with Geoff Anenberg, Michelle Papillion, Sebastian De Vivo, Collette McGruder and Athena Currey. The Mayor’s Office of Economic Development and the MCS Creative Entrepreneur Microloan Program will launch a resource to creatives and small business owners. Attendees can apply for portions of a $300,000 reserve that will be awarded to qualifying applicants by December 31st, 2015.
