Natural History Museum’s First Fridays is baFirstFridays-NaturalHistoryck for March. Tonight’s event features “Finding L.A.’s Hidden Wildlife One Photo at a Time” with Richard Smart of the NHM Citizen Science Program. Tours run from 5:00 pm, 5:30 pm, 6:00 pm.

There’s hidden wildlife in Los Angeles but how do we find it? This wildlife has eluded scientists for years by either being too secretive, hidden in plain sight, or tauntingly out of reach on private property. Through citizen science we can begin to explore this uncharted territory, and everyday people can make extraordinary discoveries. This season’s First Fridays tours explore how citizen scientists are “Finding L.A.’s Hidden Wildlife One Photo at a Time.”

“Stoppage Time,” is a collection of photographs taken by John Michael Riva Jr. The exhibt is inspired by his love of football (soccer). For all of you NON sports fans (yeah that includeds me)….”Stoppage Time” is a term used for the extra time added at the end of each half in Football (Soccer).   

This will be his first solo exhibition featuring sports related photographs. “I love sports in general and grew up playing many, including soccer.”

La Luz de Jesus Gallery presents its 29th Annual Group Show…”Laluzapalooza.”

OncFri-Mar30Laluzapaloozae again it will showcase tomorrow’s talent today alongside some of our stalwart favorites. There are over 200 pieces in the show, which takes a full week to hang and light.

It’s a tasteful, visual mosh-pit that can’t be described and really needs to be experienced. There are book signings all month long, too.
