Susan Haynsworth is a Santa Monica based illustrator, collage artist, designer, and photographer. Her art is inspired by her travels, global cultures, topography, nature, and her own creative community. Using a mix of Americana, ephemera, photography, and dreams, Susan’s art is an ever-evolving documentation of her journey.

La Luz de Jesus offers an opening reception for one of my favorite artists….José Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros is back-with Profanity Pop, a celebration of creative freedom in our time.
Mythology, Religion and the representation of power have manifested in all of the great works from antiquity. With Profanity Pop, Rodolfo pays tribute to specific historical works that have inspired many generations. Universal themes are once again narrated by beloved animated characters, but in the guise of the divine and with all the fragility of martyrs. Away from the paradise of happy endings, the pastel sprinkled drama takes on a vulnerability that juxtaposes subversively with situations never similarly interpreted.
Also on view is a five-person show featuring the winners of La Luz de Jesus Gallery’s 2014 Laluzapalooza juried group show. Artists include: Katherine Brannock, Frank Forte, Jinx, Sean Stepanoff and Allison “Hueman” Torneros.
