Artist, Julienne Johnson will be conducting an ART TALK and Q & A for the Deaf community and discussing her current exhibition, T O U C H M E T O U C H Y O U tonight at 7pm at TAG Gallery, Bergamot Station.

Johlowres JulienneJohnson atwork Studio March2012nson has an unusual approach to art, painting with her hands. She explains her process, “”Mixing media has always come naturally to me.

I love the texture of paint, the pliability of clay and the strength of metal. I create in a physical way, working hands on – applying, removing, scraping, sanding, sawing, soldering, pounding – I’m all over it; shape to shape and color to color until I’m satisfied with the whole.”

If you or anyone you know is deaf and loves art, please tell them about this event which is open to the public.

As a child, Julienne had a lowres JulienneJohnson Ozymandias 2012 61x63 oil with mixed media on canvas with pigment transfers collagespecial friend whose parents were deaf. Spending a great deal of time with them during her formative years, taught her to appreciate the intrinsic sensitivity the deaf, in particular, have toward all the arts.

Artist, Camey McGilvray will also participate.
