On February 11, 2021 at 12pm (noon), The Wallis hosts a zoom talk in conjunction with Hershey Felder Presents: Live From Florence, Italy. The talented Hershey Felder

For this performance, Felder steps into the shoes of Sholem Aleichem in Before Fidler. I have attended several of Felder’s one-man shows and they are incredible. I highly recommend this performance. The live stream premiere is on Sunday, February 7 at 5:00pm PST. Purchase includes a full week of on demand viewing access through Sunday, February 14.

Before Fiddler features actor, playwright and virtuoso pianist Hershey Felder as the great Yiddish author Sholem Aleichem, whose works inspired the classic musical Fiddler on the Roof, as well as performances by the Florence-based Klezmer music ensemble, Klezmerata Fiorentina. Long before songs like “Tradition,” “If I Were a Rich Man” and “Sunrise, Sunset” first beguiled audiences, there was Klezmer, the music of the Old World; a music that imitated talking, laughing, weeping, and singing, and where musicians didn’t just make music, they spoke to you in song. This production was filmed on location where the events actually took place.

The zoom talk takes place on February 11, 2021 at 12:00pm (PST); Visit the Wallis website for additional info.
