On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, Emporium Thai Market premieres as the newest location of the beloved Sungkamee family favorite Emporium Thai. Husband-and-wife team John and Jane Sungkamee bring a modern chic immersive dining experience to their Southern Thai classic brand. I attended a media event, and the food is sensational – view videos on our EatTravelGo Instgram.
Located on Sawtelle Boulevard and honoring its Southern Thai roots, you’ll find signature and specialty dishes at Emporium Thai Market. Menu offerings include Seafood Hor Mok with coconut curry and delicate seafood custard. Additionally, Jane’s Wings deliver crisp texture with a tangy house glaze. Meanwhile, Phuket Wings and Kra Duk Moo Tod highlight savory Southern influences.

Guests also enjoy BLACKPINK’s Lisa Meatballs, Tom Saap Pork Rib Soup, and Khao Soi. While Honey Ribs, Choo Chee Salmon, and Jay Fai–style crab omelette remain standouts. Additional influences come from John’s hometown. These intensely spiced specialties define the Southern Thai section. Other popular dishes include: Kua Kling Gai Sab, Gaeng Som with catfish, and Pad Sa Taw Goong. Notably, Southern Thai Crab Curry follows a three-generation family recipe. Pla Tod Kamin, a show stopper features crisp red snapper with turmeric and garlic. We have to mention the desserts. These range from sweet roti to the playful Cardi B Mango Sticky Rice.
Moreover Beverage Director Honeybee Sungkamee has created a delightful cocktail program. Drawing from Thai herbs, she crafts balanced drinks tied directly to the cuisine. Therefore, signatures include Galanga Sunrise and Lemongrass Lavender Margarita. Of course the bar also offers curated wines, adventurous draft beers, and zero-proof options.
Beyond cuisine, Emporium Thai Market delivers an immersive environment. Designed by TOLO Architecture, the space features soaring ceilings and a glowing skylight.
The original restaurant Emporium Thai opened in 2000 and now has over 25 years of culinary excellence. John Sungkamee leads with tradition, innovation, and cultural pride. Alongside his wife Jane and sister Executive Chef Gina Sungkamee, he advances a family-driven vision. Their work earns national recognition, Thai SELECT certification, and critical acclaim. Together, the team shapes the future of Thai dining in Los Angeles and beyond.
