On Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 8pm, CAP UCLA at the Theatre at Ace Hotel features Bill Frisell. Also performing will be his ensemble FIVE.  The ensemble incudes Tony Scherr, Kenny Wollesen, Rudy Royston as well as Thomas Morgan, Ambrose Akinmusire. The Owl Song ensemble featuring Bill Frisell & Herlin Riley will also perform.

Ambrose Akinmusire is an astonishingly inventive trumpeter, vocalist, avant-garde composer as well as a bandleader. His ensemble Owl Song joins the performance. The ensemble features pioneer Bill Frisell and the grooving New Orleans drummer Herlin Riley. Steeped in the tradition of improvisation, expect beauty and many surprises.
