On the fifth floor, 515 hosts a closing art party, The exhibition is titled Hover. Curated by Ruth Trotter, the group show features abstract paintings by three LA based artists: Alicia Cheatham, Amy Green, as well as Pamela Jorden. An opening art party will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, 7-9pm.
Hover explores the intersection of aesthetic sensibilities of these artists and the processes that each employs, such as pouring, layering, cutting; and the role that chance and control play in the work.

Also at the Bendix Building (on the same floor)…JAUS Director Ichiro Irie curates the 2-person exhibition titled Life Affirming Moments: En Route. The exhibition closes on October 8, 2023, however Tiger Strikes Asteroid Los Angeles (TSALA) hosts a closing art party on Ocotober 7, 2023 from 7-9pm. This show is part of SUR:biennial 2023 programming.
SUR:biennial in association with Tiger Strikes Asteroid Los Angeles presents Life Affirming Moments: En Route. This two-person art exhibition features individual as well as collaborative work by Cynthia Luján and Jorge Mujica. Having successfully worked together on past endeavors, the artists made the decision to embark on a 3-month creative process in what the two describe as a “contemplative exploration of life’s pathways.”
In this exhibition, the artists draw inspiration from materials and imagery associated with transportation (recurrent motifs in Lujan’s oeuvre). Through a fusion of each artists’ aesthetics and thoughtfully coordinated 2 and 3 dimensional interventions, the gallery space unfolds like a meandering path, inviting viewers to pause and reflect.
