Sprüth Magers hosts a special Sizzler Summer Party to celebrate 10 Years LA! The art party is NOT at the gallery, but at Sizzler down the street at 6145 Wilshire Blvd. The event is co-hosted with Wilshire Online. Here you’ll find 22 video works from the late 1960s to current day. The event features hot dogs by Tail O’ the Pup, music by Wormwood Star, Mo0d, and Yacht, books by AUTO Books, and a cash bar. Kasey Knudsen Sextet performs at the Hammer Museum tonight. The San Francisco–based saxophonist, composer, and educator has been causing a stir in the jazz world. The band includes: Henry Hung on trumpet, Rob Ewing on trombone, Dahveed Behroozi on piano,Lisa Mezzacappa on bass and Jon Arkin on drums. Moreover, Knudsen has collaborated with artists including Tune-Yards, Fred Frith, Charlie Hunter, and more. Skirball Cultural Center has some incredible shows as part of their Sunset Concert. I attended last week’s and posted on @LAArtParty as well as several videos on @EatTravelGo. Dance the night away with a disco vibe from Annie and the Caldwells. The Campbell Brothers are known for their upbeat style of African-American gospel known as sacred steel. TRYST Art Fair is back again this year at Del Amo Crossing. Presented by the Torrance Art Museum in partnership with the City of Torrance, it kicks off today, and runs through Sunday, August 9, 2026.
Moreover this is the fourth iteration of the annual art fair which spotlights artist-run spaces, collectives, and independent organizations.
