On Saturday, January 13, 2024, CHG (Corey Helford Gallery) throws an opening art party for two exhibitions from 7-11pm. The 10th annual Art Collector Starter Kit debuts in the main gallery, while Lucid Dreaming by Chinese artist Li Shanmei opens in Gallery 3.
Art Collector Starter Kit
This is the tenth annual Art Coll ector Starter Kit group show (ACSK X). The group exhibition features new, affordable 12” x 12” works. The art is created by over 75 established and emerging artists from across the globe. In the main gallery, ACSK X offers a great opportunity for art enthusiasts to begin collecting. Often art lovers are priced out of collecting works. This annual group show therefore makes it possible to purchase an original piece of art from a favorite CHG artist.
The show originally launched in 2013, and it has been a popular theme allowing access to art for everyone. The gallery continues to pursue its mission of spreading the joy and satisfaction of art appreciation and collection to the larger public.
Lucid Dreaming Li Shanmei
Opening in Gallery 3 is Lucid Dreaming, Chinese artist Li Shanmei’s first solo exhibition with the gallery. The artist is known for her oil paintings depicting otherworldly children whose spirits and also physical form are one with nature and life.

The artist’s painting technique is realistic yet illustrative, with an aesthetic embrace of computerized graphics. Her use of bold colors, geometry, and mandalas are nods to systems of mathematics. Her works also embody tools of spiritual guidance as well as ascension. Shanmei’s painted children represent new age deities that adapt to the innovations of technology while also maintaining a homeostasis with their natural world.
Corey Helford Gallery
Jan Corey Helford and her husband, television producer/creator Bruce Helford established the gallery in 2006. Corey Helford Gallery (CHG) has since evolved into a premier gallery of New Contemporary art. Its goal is to support the growth of artists, from the young and emerging, to the well-known and internationally established. CHG represents a diverse collection of international artists as well. he gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00pm – 6:00pm.
