Thursday, and Friday April 3, and 4, 2025 LA art events offer a broad range of media. In addition to a fun art walk, there are also performances, a screening and book a launch, as well as a fundraiser for the important non profit organization Inner-City Arts.

DTlA Art Night takes place tonight. Multiple galleries participate such as Gabba Gallery, Neptune Gallery, Hive Gallery, Neptune Gallery, and many more. L.A. Center for Digital Art (LACDA) is also participating. They have new shows officially opening this Saturday. Inner-City Arts holds its 2025 gala to celebrate collaboration and to honor two of its longtime partners in helping to achieve its important mission.

Tonight the organization pays tribute to Trader Joe’s as well as its President and Vice CEO Jon Basalone for their decades of advocacy for Inner-City Arts programs. Support from Trader Joe’s dates back to the organization’s earliest years. In addition they will also honor Elizabeth Arellano, principal of Quincy Jones Elementary School. Book Launch
Venice Heritage Museum (VHM) hosts a book launch for Accidental Friends by Susan Josephs. The new novel by the local author was inspired Venice’s historic Jewish community and the Israel Levin Center, Accidental Friends (Bedazzled Ink Publishing, 2025) tells the story of two women in Venice from two different walks of life who connect after a tragedy. Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is back at the Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. It officially kicked off yesterday, April 2nd. The appearance is part of a Southern California multi-year residency. The performance will include contemporary premieres and classics as well as Mr. Ailey’s signature work Revelations.

In Chinatown…North Loop West is brand new to Los Angeles as of April 2025. It is the LA-based outgrowth of a seasonal gallery project based in Williamstown, Mass. Let’s all welcome the gallery. For its inaugural exhibition North Loop West presents the art of LA-based artist Andrew Holmquist. The solo show will feature new ceramic sculptures alongside paintings and works on paper including a debut of the artist’s 13 ft. LA Intersection. In Santa Monica…Right in the Eye (En plein dans l’œil) from composer-scenographer Jean-François Alcoléa, is a unique live concert performed to the silent, fantastical films of George Méliès featuring three musicians, 50 instruments and 11 of Méliès films. Celebrating its 11th anniversary tour, Right in the Eye will play 12 venues across the United States from March 28 – April 18. Tonight it will be screened at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica for a performance in collaboration with American Cinematheque. For tickets and more information, visit the website. In East Hollywood…Adanza written and directed by Brooke Ferri and Joseph (Jilbér) Ferri continues its run at Eastwood Performing Arts Center.

The new musical combines aerial artists, music, dance, circus, storytelling as well as bubbles. It is a story about exploration with a lesson that it’s never too late to be the person are meant to be. In addition to aerial acts, the show also includes juggling, unicycles, breakdancing, flipping, animation, bubbles, glow sticks, drumming, audience participation and more. Melissa Carvajal, and Vicki Liv choreograph the show, while Brooke Ferri and Jilbér Ferri compose the musical and write the book. The cast includes: Joseph (Jilbér) Ferri, Bella Hamm, Alex Honorato; and Features Cristina Malakhai, Elizabeth Kate Hernandez, Jorchual Gregory Vargas, Melissa Carvajal, Sage Buchalter, Tate Navarro, Tristan Nguyen, Sharyn Scott, Gonsalo Bboy Chalo, and Christopher Yates.
