If you are looking for something different to do on a Sunday, head to the Natural History Museum Butterfly Pavilion. My husband and I love this installation. I spent some time at the the NHM Butterfly Pavilion, and it was so delightful. If you stand still these beautiful creatures will land right on you. In addition to friendly butterflies, attendees can also enjoy native plants, and caterpillars. Dance LA

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is back at the Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion as part of an exclusive. The appearance is part of a Southern California multi-year residency. The performance will include contemporary premieres and classics as well as Mr. Ailey’s signature work Revelations. The one features two different programs, so be sure to check the website for the performances that you would like to see.

In Westwood…Join Fowler for a special afternoon celebrating the exhibition Taming the Desert. Enjoy a performance by Afro-Peruvian musician Nadia Calmet. An accomplished artivist, Nadia Calmet has more than 25 years of experience in teaching, choreographing, and also composing traditional Afro-Peruvian music.  The performance will be followed by a tour of the exhibition led by Peruvian archaeologist Solsire Cusicanqui. The archaeologist will discuss the fantastic creatures, powerful ancestors, and mythological beings found in this exhibition, which illustrates how ancient Andean societies looked for spiritual meaning and numinous help in an unpredictable and challenging world. Gallery Luisotti invites the public to attend an opening for Minding Time, artist CJ Heyliger’s third solo exhibition with the gallery. The exhibition is timed at ten years since his first at Gallery Luisotti exhibition. The solo show features just how artist has used photography to interpret the concept of time over the last decade.
