Brassroots District LA ’74
Brassroots District has opened the official waitlist for LA ’74, experience. Meanwhile, the band released a new single, “Takin’ Back Day Dreamin’,” featuring Robert Randolph. The release follows growing buzz around fan favorite “You Caught Me Baby.” Together, both tracks preview the group’s debut album, Brassroots District, arriving January 29, 2026.

As momentum builds, the band invites audiences back into the world of LA ’74. Accordingly, fans can now join the waitlist for early ticket access. “Takin’ Back Day Dreamin’” expands the sound introduced by “You Caught Me Baby.” That earlier track blended funk grooves with themes of fantasy and desire. As a result, listeners reconnected with the band’s retro-soul aesthetic.
Brassroots District: LA ’74 opens February 7 at the historic Jewel’s Catch One. Notably, the production fuses immersive theater with a live concert. Set in a fictionalized 1974, the story unfolds during an album release party. However, creative and personal tensions quickly surface.
Each date features two performances, including early and late shows. Meanwhile, general ticket sales began on January 14. Staged at Jewel’s Catch One, the show encourages full audience immersion. Accordingly, guests interact with fans, record executives, managers, and family members.
At times, audiences may witness a life-changing record deal unfold. Previous singles “Together” and “Aim High” earned critical recognition. For example, V13 called the band “a full-fledged movement.” Similarly, Soundville praised the music as “time travel made real.”
Music industry veterans Ari Herstand and Andrew Leib co-created the production. Together, they developed LA ’74 as a fully scripted immersive residency. Earlier versions sold out and earned praise from the LA Times and LA Weekly. The project also headlined La Jolla Playhouse’s WOW Immersive Festival.
