The LA Opera presents Madame Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini for a select number of performances at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion Music Center. Today’s performance starts at 6pm

The new production was originally staged by Spanish-Uruguayn director Mario Gas for the Teatro Real in Madrid. Moreover the reimagined plot takes place at a 1930s film studio. Then the opera performance is captured by onstage camera operators and projected onto screens hanging above the stage.
