The party continues as The Actors’ Gang extends its fortieth anniversary production of “Ubu the King” through December 3. Directed by Tim Robbins “Ubu” is a revival of the obscenely funny, deeply offensive, and utterly deranged play that started it all for this now storied theatre company.

Stage Raw said, Ubu is “full of rude fun. Director Tim Robbins stages the show with panache, bringing plenty of clever and effective ideas to play, including a comically oversized sword, a regularly updated body-count chalkboard, a battle represented by MacNure knocking over army men toys, and an impressive array of performer-engendered bathroom noises … it’s still a crude and satisfying kick in the pants to conformity, and that’s always a good thing.”
