As part of the Hammer Conversations Series, architects David Adjaye and Mack Scogin will be speaking tonight.  Did you know that it’s free admission to the Hammer on Thursdays? So head over there early and enjoy the art.

3.29HammerConversationsDavid Adjaye OBE is principal architect of Adjaye Associates.  Adjaye also collaborates with artists and curators to create unique spaces, including Olafur Eliasson’s light installation Your black horizon at the 2005 Venice Biennale.

Mack Scogin is a principal in the firm of Mack Scogin Merrill Elam Architects in Atlanta. His most recent recognitions include a 2012 AIA Institute Honor Award for Architecture for the Gates and Hillman Centers for Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University.

3.29 WLA ReneeFoxThe Art Gallery at West LA College presents A Decadent Work by Los Angeles artist Renée A. Fox. The artist will paint one fifteen by sixty foot mural directly on a large curved wall in the gallery that will be completely painted over at the end of the six-week exhibition. A labor-intensive exercise, the mural has developed through multiple revisions in the past two months. Its final incarnation will take two full weeks to produce.

A Decadent Work runs from Monday, March 26 through Monday, May 7, 2012.
