Design on-trend and eye-catching necklaces, brooches, or earrings in this hands-on workshop. Jewelry artist Jenny Wyss will lead you through the process of seeking inspiration, planning your design, and refining details. Learn to make unexpected combinations, like drawing and painting on plastic and metal. In addition to a fresh accessory, you’ll have a new talent for handmade gifts!
Composing A Life: A Journal Box

Instructor Kelly Kilmer: “This class has been brewing in my head for several years now and I can’t wait to share it with you! In this six hour workshop, you will learn skills in box making, book making, collage, assemblage, art journaling, self expression, composition, design, and much, much more. We will begin by creating a book box covered in papers that are chosen by you (and provided by me.) Next up is creating a variety of books that fit into the box. Learn a variety of simple but fun construction and bookbinding techniques. I strive to make each of the techniques that I present in my classes different than other classes and you will love what you create in this workshop!”

New Artist Event: Adriana Vidal
Adriana Vidal Artist Event is Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Word is Art’s second artist event of 2014 will feature new artist Adriana Vidal to our gallery. Adriana’s paintings are mixed media watercolor, acrylic and ink. She also works in paper clay as a medium to achieve 3-dimensions in her art pieces. Favorite elements to work in are trees, water and eyes. She thinks of her art as microcosmic worlds that live in her subconscious.

tistically her art evolves from black and white almost structural sketches to more organic and flowing sketches with several stops to dabble in other mediums and styles along the way. She studied at Hood College and George Washington University.
