Happy St Paddy’s Day (Do you hear my Irish accent?)….it’s one of my favorite holidays! Put somethng GREEN on and get out there!

Start early today in Venice….at Sunday Mass….say what? Yeah that’s what I said. If you have not yet been, gotta check out Deux Ex Machina.

The Venice Legends invited me to perform with them on gig at Sunday Mass at Deux Ex Machina on Venice and Lincoln (the old Conway Flower shop).

At this month’s Mass funds will be raised for friends at Lightly Salted, a surf shop based in New Jersey. Lightly Salted was seriously effected by Sandy and are currently trying to rebuild their sho prints of vintage body surf fins and hand planes for an exhibition he calls “Hand Job.”

We will be playing classic country …Johnny Cash, June Carter and more, as well as some blues too.

Now let’s spotlight some hardcore Irish pubs…as some of these may have admission charges…we will be sure to update it for you.

in Santa Monica, Sonny McLean’s Pub (2615 Wilshire Blvd., SM) celebrates with four bands and a bag piper starting at 10:00 a.m.

No admission here….yeah!

Start off the day with a Guinness and a reakfast Burrito. There are lots of choices here….Breakfast Croissant Sandwich, Sonny’s Irish potatoes, Corned Beef and Eggs and Sonny’s Breakfast, Banger, 2 slices Bacon, scrambled Eggs, fried tomato, potatoes. Some great bands here…..Paul Harkin Irish Music, The Masters Of The Past, The Jamestown Revival Band… plus The Girls from Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey will be paying a visit around 1pm followed by the Bushmills Irish Whiskey Girls around 2pm.

I just played a gig at this place and everyone kept talking about how good the food is. i can’t wait to get me some corned beef and cabbage…yum.

In Marina Del Rey….This one I’ve been going to for a while…..Brennan’s Pub, (4089 Lincoln Blvd., Marina Del Rey) also has a fun St Paddy’s Day party, complete with green beer, a beer garden and live bands. Get out there and get your party on. Have fun on this year’s Saint Patrick’s Day.. Take a taxi or pick a designated driver. Maybe you’ll find you’re pot of gold….I’m still lookin’ for mine.
