Th3.10 LAmAG UnNatural0312Le Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery is pleased to present three exhibitions that investigate the way artists in various genres interpret and observe nature.

Un-Natural explores the work of four very different contemporary artists—Lisa Adams, Fatemeh Burnes, Merion Estes and Constance Mallinson—who use the world around us to foster a sense of place, explore natural phenomena and its energetic connection to modern life, and push the boundaries and definition of landscape and its representation.

3.11 LAGMA SavingParadise0312aSaving Paradise: The Symbiosis of Landscape Painting and Environmental Awareness is a group exhibition from the California Art Club juried by Jean Stern, Director of The Irvine Museum.

In the Project Room gallery, Hybrid Romance by Los Angeles artist Lawrence T. Yun presents his latest watercolor series.

3.11 BeyondBaroque JackKerouicBeyond Baroque presents a celebration of the work of Jack Kerouac with readings by Rafael Alvarado, Iris Berry, Eve Branstein, Michael C. Ford, Doug Knott Ellyn Maybe and more.

Jack Kerouac, a prolific exceptional poet and novelist, received artistic acclaim, and even made the best-seller list. However, like so many other brilliant artists, Kerouac was unable to establish financial security. Nevertheless, Kerouac’s work endures to the present day with new generations of readers re-discovering his remarkable body of work.

There will also  be a panel discussion of Kerouac’s life hosted by Beyond Baroque director, Richard Modiano.
