In Downtown LA…

2A Gallery presents a reading and event for “The People’s Tarot” in conjunction with a closing reception for its current exhibition.

The People’s Tarot is an interdisciplinary project that includes a set of collages, two print editions, readings, and, most importantly, a tarot deck and guidebook. Annie Buckley started this project out of an interest in injecting more intuition into what was an increasingly analytical practice and ended up making a personal deck to be read and used. The deck and guidebook will be available in a signed, limited edition of 100.

PSun-June8-2AGalleryart of the project is to gather and share readings. Limited reserved 15-minute slots will be available from 1–3PM.

Closing at 2A Gallery is the exhibition “A Forest: Cathy Akers, Annie Buckley, Anita Bunn, Siri Kaur,” featuring work by contemporary artists who employ images of trees and/or forests. The exhibition title refers to the 1980 song A Forest by The Cure, with an additional nod to the seminal 1989 MOCA, LA exhibition A Forest Of Signs: Art in the Crisis of Representation, curated by Ann Goldstein.
