Steve Hilton is a ceramics professor and works with both earthen materials and earthy color-scapes. Suguru Hiraide is a masterful sculptor with metal, creating engineered and sophisticated works that move, shudder, light up and interact.

The beginnings of Razili and Gordon’s collaborations trace back to Sylmar, a town just Northeast of Northridge, California in 1994, when they were brought together for a group show called “Intimate Images,” by Julie Sim Edwards at Century Gallery. When Gordon relocated to Texas they began a series of collaborative drawings and collages on paper that eventually extended to mixed-media. The complimentary forces of the hard-edged and sculptural constructions of Razili’s art—both a paean to her native Israel’s natural and manmade features as well as a vehicle of material exploration—and the spontaneous collaged approach of Gordon have sustained over two decades of works that capture the unique character in each artist’s approach.

There will be an art talk at 4 pm.
