L.A. Artcore is pleased to announce a special solo exhibition a internationally-recognized and renowned artist Dr. Kamol Tassananchalee.

Dr. TSun Jan5 LAArtcore KAMOL LGassananchalee is more than a national symbol, or a breakthrough representative of Thailand to the world at large. As an artist in the 1970s he graduated from Otis when the expat’s breakthrough involved the Buddha’s Foot, an ancient symbol for both the presence and absence of self and the Awakened Being, a symbol of compassion.

Conversation with the artist takes place at 2 pm.

Sun Jan5 LAArtcore THAI GROUP SHOW LGL.A. Artcore presents a two-week-only exhibition in a series of exchanges with Thailand organized with the great coordination and cooperation of Dr. Kamol Tassananchalee.

As an exciting and culturally-enriching component to Artcore’s programming, its international exchanges between Thailand and the U.S. continue to set the benchmark for such exchanges happening in the visual arts while giving artists the opportunities to travel abroad, tour and exhibit as a group in their host country.

There will also be a conversation with the artists at 4 pm.

LM Projects celebrates a special edition bookwork by Los Angeles based artist Kori Newkirk. “Sometimes Always Perhaps Never” invites viewers to glimpse into Newkirk’s studio practice and process, a space unseen by the public and very private for the artist.

BSun Jan5 LMProjects KoriNewkirkorrowing the visual language of an artist journal, this book collects the materials, found objects, studies, references, experiments and sketchbooks that have collectively contributed to Newkirk’s bodies of work from 1990 to the present.

Interwoven throughout are excerpts of informal conversations with Soraya Murray, Jason Meadows, Matthew Schum, Chris Oatey, Lorraine Molina and Daniel Joseph Martinez.
