The Consulate General of Brazil in Los Angeles hosts an opening reception to celebrate the opening of Forms and Cores. The solo show features the work of the talented Brazilian artist Sandra Zebi. The exhibition will remain on view from September 18 to October 17, with free admission and open to the public. Come meet the artist. The Consulate event will also feature music. Geffen Playhouse presents a world premiere production of Am I Roxie?, written and performed by Roxana Ortega (The Casagrandes, The Groundlings). The play is directed by Bernardo Cubría (Crabs in a Bucket; The Giant Void In My Soul). In this funny one-woman tour-de-force based on her own life, writer/actor Roxana Ortega navigates the chaos of her mother’s mental decline with outrageous humor. Playing everything from a mermaid-obsessed aunt to a prickly sherpa, Roxie takes us on a humorous as well as a poignant journey.
