Thursday, Friday, September 17-18, 2026 Art Parties & Events set us up with a fun weekend. With art talks, book signings and openings, wine tasting, comedy and more, we have lots to choose from. Our events range from Santa Monica to Silver Lake with West Hollywood and Downtown happenings as well.

West Hollywood…Hauser Wirth West Hollywood brings us a new exhibition titled Night Window David Smith Spray Paintings 1958-1964. At 6pm the gallery will hold an opening talk with Senior Curator Emerita of Modern Art Carol S. Eliel and artist Mary Weatherford. Then it will be followed by the opening reception beginning at 7pm. This event is free however, reservations are recommended – visit the website. Beverly Hills
Dorothea Rockburne: On the Consideration of the Curve opens at Marc Selwyn Fine Art. The solo show focuses on the artist’s unique approach to her work. This emerged during her studies at Black Mountain College from 1950 to 1954. The exhibition highlights works from the late 1960s and early 1970s. David Kordansky Gallery offers two solo shows – Control X by Tala Madani and Keith Sonnier: Inside Light, 1968–1970. The first exhibition features new works that include paintings and also video animations by Madani.
While this is the second solo presnetation of works by the late Keith Sonnier (1941-2020), it highlights work created within a three-year period between 1968 and 1970. The postwar American artist is known for his sculpture, painting, installation, video, and performance throughout his sixty year career. Both exhibitions run through October 24, 2026.
