Newport Folk Festival was founded in 1959 by famed festival producer George Wein and folk icon Pete Seeger, and is produced by Jay Sweet. In February, for the second year in a row, it received the Best Music Festival award from Pollstar, the concert industry trade publication, and returns to Fort Adams State Park in Rhode Island this July with Ryan Adams, Nickel Creek, Mavis Staples and Jeff Tweedy, and many more. Newport Folk Presents® Way Over Yonder is produced in collaboration with RH&S Concerts LLC.

The best way to get there is by bicycle….parking can be a bit hairy. However parking is available just south of the Pier off of Pacific Coast Highway (1550 PCH Lot), on a first come, first served basis. Additionally, there will be shuttles running from the south beach lots adjacent to Barnard Way between Bicknell and Hollister Aves. There is also plenty of parking as close as two blocks away from the Pier in Santa Monica city parking lots on Colorado Ave., 2nd St. and 4th St. THERE WILL BE NO PARKING PERMITTED ON THE PIER DECK.
