AWBW will proudly present the 2014 heART Award to Amanda Quinn Olivar, Advocate, Curator, and Event Co-Chair. With Amanda’s outreach to artists and the arts community, AWBW has stepped into a new era of Artworks for Healing. It began when she helped to curate our first highly successful Artworks for Healing at the Skirball Cultural Center in February 2012. Earlier this year, Amanda brought together over 45 artists who have been involved in, or influenced by, the Venice beach art scene from the 1950s through today. This exhibition to benefit AWBW at James’ Beach was a huge success and established wonderful new friendships for the organization. Amanda has been instrumental as a co-chair of the Artworks for Healing committee and a member of the curatorial team. AWBW is grateful for her hard work and dedication, touching the lives of many through art.

Sat-Sept27-ArtworksforHealingBenefitPixSince 1991, A Window Between Worlds has been dedicated to using art as a healing tool to empower survivors and raise awareness in our communities to help end the cycle of violence. All event proceeds benefit AWBW’S expansion to serve new partners including those working with male survivors, veterans and their families, sexual assault survivors, and youth beyond the shelter setting. We hope you will join us for this special evening to celebrate our new mission.
