ScSat May18 Schomburg Tony Osio SanGimignanohomburg Gallery holds an opening reception for “Common Ground Landscapes: La Ballona Wetlands and San Gimignano” featuring the work of Tony Osio.

The series of landscapes, inspired by two completely different environments, are site specific.  The Tuscan works evolved from a period of time spent in the shadow of San Gimignano, a UNESCO protected medieval town surrounded by rolling hills dotted with lush vineyards and romantic villas.  The other series has as its subject the La Ballona Wetlands, the last remaining coastal wetland in Southern California.

Support a great cause Project Angel Food at Sonny McLean’s on Wilshire…Josh Tate holds an annual Hell Raiser sports event to raise funds for a new charity each year.

Tonight marks the pre-event and fundraiser for the event, so come on out and support the cause….eat, drink and be merry. Next Saturday is the big event…Josh Tate will compete against Nic Baisley (walking for Kidflicks) as both circle a 100-foot track until one of them taps out. Hell Walk 3 will take place at the home of Hell Walk 1: the Dirt Cheap Soundstage (3019 Olympic Stage B, Santa Monica, CA).

The charity this year is Project Angel Food — a charity that has been delivering free meals to terminally ill folks in Los Angeles who can no longer leave their homes. They have been operating on a staff of just volunteers (chefs and drivers) for over 20 years and have delivered over 8 million meals.
