Enjoy the 2nd day of the Art Los Angeles Contemporary at the Santa Monica Barker.

Art Los Angeles Contemporary (ALAC), is the International Contemporary Art Fair of the West Coast.

ALAC Rocklen1 UNTITLEDNow in its fourth, the annual show champions Los Angeles as a major arts destination while attracting strong international galleries and collectors to the city of LA.

The 2013 edition of the fair features 70 established and emerging galleries from across the globe, with an accompanying series of lectures, panels, performances and screenings.

A featured highlight…Art Los Angeles Contemporary and Paris-based curator Martha Kirszenbaum will host a discussion providing a comparative approach of the French and Los Angeles art scenes, their practices and challenges within contemporary culture, and concentrating on the Ceci N’est Pas…festival, a five-month arts and culture exchange program between France and Los Angeles.  12:00 pm (Noon)

Danto Photography co-hosts a pSat Jan26 RoundhouseAquariumBenefithotography show entitled, “From Another World” at Barsha Wine Bar in Manhattan Beach with fellow photographer Ken Pagliaro.

There will be a short presentation by the Roundhouse Aquarium, discussing the fragility of underwater ecosystems and what can be done to better them. In addition to 10% of all proceeds from the night being given to the Aquarium, there will also be a raffle giving away gift baskets full of wine.

“From Another World” showcases 15 metallic, duo-toned, photographic prints in sculptural plexiglas cases that dramatize underwater life in a fresh, new way.
