You don’t have to be an actor to learn about improvising. However, if you happen to be an actor, that is fine too. Also it’s your choice to participate in the workshop or just watch. The Wallis presents the Pulitzer Prize winning play English by Sanaz Toossi and directed by Knud Adams. This acclaimed Atlantic Theater Company & Roundabout Theatre Company production runs for a limited engagement of 24 performances at the Wallis’ Bram Goldsmith Theater on April 4 to 26, 2026. Moreover, the play spotlights four Iranian adults preparing for an English language exam in a storefront school near Tehran. Due to  family separations and travel restrictions they are now prompted to learn a new language that may alter their identities.

Lincoln Heights…Wonzimer Gallery debuts a group show titled DegreeZero: Utopia/Dystopia in Contemporary Art.

Curated by Lawrence Gipe as well as Constance Mallinson, it features thirteen artists. The title DegreeZero refers to an aspect of Roland Barthes’ literary theory called “language utopia.” The artworks presented align with Barthes aim for more transparency in text. Therefore creating spaces for contemplation on the various critical dilemmas facing the contemporary world. Inglewood Open Studios (IOS) collaborates with the Inglewood Public Library to exhibit the work of four artists. The art show is the result of these art workshops! The following artists were awarded this grant, so that they can share their passion with local high school students. The Music Center Presents Life in Motion opens tonight. The new series features unusual scenes that explore the beauty, complexity and interconnectedness of life. Attendees can create with their own movements. These gestures are then displayed on screens inside the Digital Arts Space at The Music Center.
