lowres400NoirFest SantaMonica

As you all know, I have been featuring NoirFest Santa Monica, a festival that runs thr

ough March 28 and includes Noir happenings around Santa Monica. Each event is produced individually, like this three day Pinot Noir festival.

NoirFest Santa Monica offers Pinot Days as one of their suggested Noir events. A perfect pairing, don’t you think?

Pin1.28 LOGO PinotNoirDaysdpiot Days is a three day festival featuring Pinot Noir…of course. So if you like wine this is the event  for you. The cool thing is that you can choose which event you want to attend, since each event has its own ticket price.

The festival officially starts on Thursday with the first event, “Santa Rita Palooza” at West Restaurant, Hotel Angeleno. See more info under Thursday Events.

Then Friday it continues at the Wine House…again, more info under Friday Events.

Then the Pinot Days Grand Festival takes place this Saturday at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica from 1:00 pm till 5:00 pm.

Sa1.28 PinotDaysturday’s Grand Tasting Event will showcase over 125 phenomenal producers of pinot noir. Consumers will be able to sample up to 400 pinots from every important domestic pinot noir region, from the Russian River Valley to the Santa Lucia Highlands, Oregon to Carneros, the Anderson Valley to the Sonoma Coast to the Santa Rita Hills.

$60.00 will grant you entry to the show where you’ll have the chance to taste the highly acclaimed 2007 vintage, and talk with the gifted winemakers who created these beautiful wines.  Local specialty food purveyors will serve delectables that pair well with pinot.

Produced by the Bay Area Wine Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of pinot noir, Pinot Days was created by Steven and Lisa Rigisich out of their love for the “the noble grape.”

PinotDays2Pinot Days founder Steven Rigisich said, “Pinot noir is the most versatile red grape variety on the planet.  Its range of styles makes it infinitely fascinating to drink and to pair!  You can find a pinot to pair with any food, to please any palate, and to match any mood.  It is this amazing diversity of style that compels so many to pursue pinot noir so passionately.”

Smaller tastings will be held at retailers such as K&L, Wine House and Wine Exchange. The Saturday event will be held at the Barker Hanger, located at 3021 Airport Avenue, Suite 203, Santa Monica, CA 90405.
