Celebrate the holidays at LAArtParty’s Pick of the Week…The Montana Holiday Walk…yes the holidays are HERE – whether you are ready or NOT! Get out there and celebrate the season. This event is always fun – lots of local come out to bring in the season.
Come stroll Montana Avenue for their Annual Holiday Walk. Enjoy festive music and refreshments while you enjoy ten blocks of boutique stores that offer wonderful gifts for friends and family.
It’s a great time to do some shopping while enjoying holiday cheer. The walk runs from 7th steet to 17th street from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm…it’s your chance to embrace the season.
Many stores are participating and having their own exclusive events. There will be live music up and down the street.

Stop by Texture: A Sweater store and More…owner Jane Walker has been busy working hard to put the event together, in addition to running her own shop.
“Its all about community,” said Jane Walker, owner of Texture. “People see each other that they have not seen since the last holiday event or art walk.” Walker said the Holiday event is family oriented. “The kids come to see Santa…but some of my friends have told me they are looking forward to sitting on Santa’s lap each year.”
Texture features beautiful merchandise (a perfect gift for your favorite person) …of course all kinds of sweaters, cardigans, pullovers, in both vibrant and muted colors, tweedy solids to polka dot, featuring all sorts of charming designs. It’s the best time to buy a beautiful scarf or sweater.
Walker said she loves the sense of community that Montana Avenue neighborhood offers. “One of my customer’s said Texture is like the ‘Cheers’ of retail,” laughed Walker. “Customers become friends of other customers…talking while they shop. Just across the street from Rosti Tuscan Kitchen, Peter Skrabak will be performing classical music in front of The Shade Store. A talented musician, Skrabak said he was excited to perform once again at this event and in front of BOCA, a new addtion to Montana’s great line up of shops.
In addition to being a proficient guitarist, Skrabak is also a noted songwriter. He has worked with legendary sax player Hollis Gentry, and while in the band, he wrote a song (NO PODRAS) which was performed by Gentry and would later become a huge international hit for the Mexican artist Cristian Castro. http://www.peterskrabak.com
