PDC Design Gallery’s inaugural exhibition, SUPERSHOW, features the work of L.A.-based artists Fallen Fruit (David Allen Burns and Austin Young), and explores their contemporary art practice, reflecting upon a broader, controversial global environmental movement involving food production. As food is inextricably bound to identity, small-scale self-sufficient organic farming is becoming a means for cultural rediscovery, invigorating the politics of both left and right and going far beyond community gardening.

Founded by Charles S. Cohen, the PDC Design Gallery is a two-level museum-quality exhibition space, located in the freestanding building in the Pacific Design Center plaza that was formerly occupied by MOCA. The PDC Design Gallery is devoted to design and art, showcasing internationally renowned designers, celebrated artists, noted curators, professional design organizations and leading academic institutions to draw upon the collective intelligence and creativity of California’s vast design culture as well as international design invention and innovation. Programming comprises special commissions, immersive installation-based exhibits, visionary architectural projects, graphic communications, design objects, artist designed furniture and textiles, as well as cutting-edge student exhibitions that demonstrate the expansive leaps in creativity among L.A.’s young artist designers.

Open Tuesday-Friday: 11am-5pm; Saturday & Sunday: noon-5pm.

On view: October 3, 2019 – February 23, 2020.
