Recognized as an official Burning Man Regional event, the Afterburn brings the magic of the playa to our ‘default’ world and aims to re-create the culture of Burning Man, celebrating the spirit of community, gifting, creative collaboration and broad inclusiveness in respect of the 10
principles of Burning Man.

The ten principles were written by the Burning Man founder, Larry Harvey, as a reflection of the community’s ethos and culture. As always, there will be several big and small mutant vehicles with DJs, a small live stage, art installations that were created for Burning Man 2019, various healing offerings, and performances that engage in interactive activities. Furthermore, this year theVenice Afterburn will be Hallowe en and Dia De Los Muertos themed, with a special costume and giant puppet parade.

The event is open to all participants, burners or not; it blends the vibrant, eclectic community ofVenice Beach with the creativity of the Burning Man citizens. Participation is encouraged: we don’t just want spectators, but participants! Come with your best costume, bring something to gift, interact with the many art pieces and performances!
