The Geffen Playhouse, and Steppenwolf Theatre Company present NOISES OFF at the Gil Cates Theater. This hysterical British farce written by Michael Frayn is directed by Anna D. Shapiro. It tells the story of a chaotic theater company desperately trying to get their act together. On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, previews begin. The Geffen has been extended the show through March 7, 2025.

While Doors slam, sardines fly, and trousers drop, audiences will enjoy a behind the scenes peek of a theatrical production gone wrong. The chaos ensues both backstage as well as on stage. In addition to romantic affairs confusion ensues backstage. Furthermore lines are forgotten on stage by actors failing at their jobs. Anyone who has ever worked in theatre will appreciate this hot mess.

This theater has become a hub of the Los Angeles theater scene since opening its doors in 1995. Noted for its intimacy and celebrated for its world-renowned mix of classic and contemporary plays, provocative new works and second productions, the not-for-profit organization continues to present a body of work that has garnered national recognition.
