Stand up Poly Diaz takes the main stage at the Hollywood Improv. The Venezuelan comedian, writer, and actress is currently based in México City, so grab your chance to see her. Diaz has opened for Richie O´Farril, Sofia Niño de Rivera, Daniel Sosa and Marcello Hernández.

The Fowler recently debuted a new exhibition titled Construction, Occupation last weekend. The group show includes the work of 24 artists and also collectives that engage art’s potential to shape the city through the power of community. Drawing on myriad visual languages and poetics grounded in collective action, the exhibition investigates a radical urban vocabulary that blurs art and activism to address questions of infrastructure and vulnerability, circulation and segregation, and the body in public space.

Life of Pi

Downtown…The Ahmanson Theatre presents Life of Pi a winner of three Tony Awards® as well as the Olivier Award for Best Play. It is a stirring fantasy style tale of wonder and adventure. Lolita Chakrabarti has an adapted dazzling stage adaptation of Yann Martel’s best-selling novel (over 15 million copies sold). The show opened to critical acclaim on Broadway and the West End. It is attracting audiences from around the world.

LAMAG (Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery) presents Virtual Fridays: Exploring Artworks and Themes from Step & Repeat. Today’s virtual event is titled Meditation, Meditative Art, and Flow States. The series of virtual programs featuring artworks from Step & Repeat curated by Nancy Meyer and John Weston. Each week a new theme highlighting three artworks will be shown. Participants will view artworks from the exhibition and have the opportunity to share their observations. Otis College Art and Design kicks off its annual O-Launch event. The weekend will feature both in-person and virtual events from May 9-11, 2025. It showcases the future of art and design through the work of Otis College’s talented graduating students.
