Hermosa Beach…The 2026 Memorial Day Fiesta Hermosa continues today and tomorrow.

The annual festival features carnival rides, food, and of course arts and crafts vendors. Head to the Garden to enjoy alcoholic beverages (yes there is a charge). Topanga Days is back for its first day. This is a really fun festival – with great music, crafts and food. This is one of my favorites.  The best way to attend is to park at a friend’s house who lives in Topanga, walk, or take one car. Enjoy local artisans, craft vendors, amazing food too. Mount Wilson

MWO (Mount Wilsono Observatory) kicks off its first Sunday Afternoon Concerts in the Dome of 2026 today. The performance takes place inside the soaring dome of the historic 100-inch telescope. The series is curated by Artistic Director Cécilia Tsan who was the Principal Cellist, Long Beach Symphony and Los Angeles Master Chorale.

Today’s program, Piano and Strings, marks the debut public performance of the Observatory’s new Steinway grand piano. Mendelssohn Trio in D minor, Fauré Piano Quartet No. 1 in C minor. Musicians include: Zachary Deak (piano), Tosca Opdam and Asi Matathias (violins), Carson Rick (viola), and Cécilia Tsan (cello). The dome has some sensational acoustics. Moreover each program is performed twice—first at 3:00pm and again at 5:00pm. Then there is an artist reception in between both performances at 4pm.
