Los Angeles Art Association (LAAA) celebrates SUPERSENSE as well as 3 solo exhibitions by Maya Kabat, Seda Saar and Alison Wood.  All shows runs from August 19 – September 15, 2023.

LAAA, SUPERSENSE

The group exhibition titled SUPERSENSE features all types of media exploring tactile presentation or fetishism in contemporary art practice. SUPERSENSE is juried by Cynthia Penna, Curator, Art 1307.

Maya Kabat

Kabat’s exhibit Super Spatial features abstract oil paintings on shaped supports and layered wood panels hung in an installation format. The artworks investigate the materiality of the urban landscape of Los Angeles, along with the multi-dimensional dynamics of architectural and spatial relationships.

Seda Saar

The artist explores perception as a metaphor for the existential. In Revelations: Seeing Light, Saar stimulates the viewers senses and personal perspectives through a curious interplay of themes, materials, forms, and lighting. In addition, she illuminates and reveals our own higher spirit. Mirrored shapes and colorful shadows replicate natural phenomena, connecting to our emotional intelligence.

Alison Woods

Metaclysmic abstraction in the virtual age opens a dialogue about the relationship between the complexity of the human mind and how computers and artificial intelligence are changing all aspects of science, communication, industry, finance, and infrastructure. Woods also creates images that allow technology’s digital non-human binary mark to become a co-author alongside organic human mark-making.
